The session will cover orientation of the elbow joint to allow simple assessment techniques, common pathology specific to elbow regions, red flag awareness and systems thinking. Holistic management including clinic-ready rehabilitation techniques will shared and discussed with the aim of improving confidence of clinicians in dealing with complaints of this often forgotten joint.

Andrew Cuff & Thomas Mitchell

Andrew is qualified from Oxford Brookes University with a First-Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy and has completed his MSc in Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University where he finished at the top of his cohort. Andrew’s clinical specialism is in the management of upper limb conditions, especially complex shoulder presentations and regularly receives referrals via recommendation from local Orthopeadic surgeons. As a clinician he is renowned both nationally and internationally for the treatment of persistent Shoulder and Elbow pain problems, especially where pain has continued and has not responded to previous treatment. As well as being an accomplished clinician, Andrew is an active researcher with ongoing studies investigating rehabilitation of Shoulder conditions in clinical practice. He has published research on both the shoulder and the assessment of movement dysfunctions, and has been previously invited to present his work at various conferences. Thomas is an Advance Practice Physiotherapist in primary care, Extended Scope Physiotherapist in Wrist and Hand and member of the Mulligan Concept Teachers Association. He lectures nationally and internationally and speaks on various platforms about modern reasoned approach to manual therapy and management of wrist and hand conditions. He has been practicing physiotherapy since 1998, attaining a MSc in Sports Injury from the University of Sheffield in 2006 and is a clinician at Remedy Physiotherapy in Sheffield, UK. Thomas worked for ten years in the elite sporting environment, with posts with the English Institute of Sport, GB Boxing, GB Wheelchair Rugby, Sheffield United Football Club and GB Paratennis. He travelled extensively through this work, providing competition physiotherapy at Paralympic Games, World Championships, European Championships and was lead clinician for the World Series Boxing team, 2014 (British Lionhearts).
